Walkers Mighty Lights Review

We have been given the opportunity to try out the new Mighty Lights crisps from Walkers. These new crisps have 30% less fat than standard crisps, are suitable for vegetarians, are made from real potatoes with no artificial colours of preservatives and they're a source of fibre. they come in three flavours - roast chicken, cheese and onion and lightly salted. I have to say, salt and vinegar is my favourite flavour so i was disappointed that wasn't an option, however I do have two small and greedy mouths that we more than happy to give them a try instead.

The first flavour they sampled was the ready salted. I'm not really one for giving the children crisps, however being at least reduced in fat these are a bit better for them to have as a treat every now and again. They seemed to go down really well, in fact there wasn't a crisp left in sight afterwards. Mummy and daddy did get a chance to at least try one, and I actually really liked the flavour. I found these were quite different to normal ready salted - less salty and a little more meaty. Mr H wasn't keen at all though.

When it came to the other flavours, I let the children be the jury. The cheese and onion weren't a popular flavour, but they're not really keen on normal cheese and onion so i don't think this is a judgement on the crisps. The roast chicken were finished off quite quickly, however, so these also went down well. I gave H some dip to try them with and she absolutely loved it! The ridges made them great for holding onto the dip and they gave a lovely crunch as she bit into them.

I enjoyed the ready salted so much i even took some with me when I went on a training walk for next year's Yorkshire 3 Peaks - check out me and my mightiness!
